Wolfenstein the New Order Continue Screen
I have something similar happening. The first time I load and continue it's fine, but as soon as I die and have to reload it hangs on the loading screen and the little W stops spinning (also cut scenes like you said).
Funny enough, if I minimize the game and then go back to it (have to do this twice sometimes), it works again and the game continues and loads successfully.

Is this the only turnaround to post-death freezes at loading screen? I ask because performances take a noticeable hit in windowed mode, while fullscreen windowed looks pretty awful on my display.

As far as I know this is the only fix so far that has worked for me. Maybe someone else can figure out what the difference is in the two modes and create a true fix so we can play in Full Screen.
Sad times, gonna have to stick to the windowed mode so long.

I have been playing this game for the past week. Game locking up was almost a deal-breaker but I discovered that you can press CTRL+ALT+DEL when the lock-up occurs and this will allow the game to continue loading. It seems there is about a 30-second window between the time that the game locks and Win10 closes the thread.
I previously had tried every trick I could find (pre-caching, dropping reflections, etc) and nothing seemed to help the 'lock-ups'. I now have the settings maxed out (RTX 2700 super) on triple 1080p, full-screen, and a very nice frame-rate. Just need to remember, right when the lock-up occurs, hit CTRL+ALT+DEL and then go back to the game window.
Hopefully, this helps someone else.

Aye I have to also alt tab back and forth to get it to work but at least it works
Did both, nothing worked. tried windowed mode, tried CTRL+ALT+DEL and went back to it, opened task manager to click out of the game and back in. But no matter what I do, I can never get pass the telephone part.
same crashing at the start of the game and cannot get past the beach running the game windowed and full screen the alt tb trick isnt working :(
2021 and this crash still exists...
The only solution what worked for me if I rename "bink" folder to something else. Then the game will skip the intro and save the progress (but there will be sound problem). So you must exit. Rename back the folder to "bink" and you can continue the game....

im prety sure this is what caused me to just uninstall the game i might check it again just to make sure
Update: Just installed it. went to talk to the young guy at the chopper about the welding equipment and it froze lmfao. Why is this ♥♥♥♥ for sale on here?
